Library of Products
The products and tools listed below make up my active, personal collection. These are not promotional items; they are staples I use consistently, paid for myself, and rotate in my daily routines.
Rituals (brand) products are in my personal care and around my home. These are favorites from my time living in the Netherlands, and are shipped here from my mother in law who lives there. As a result, certain products may not be widely available in US markets.
Context and Care
Because my hair is prone to rapid dryness and fragility, the tools and formulations below are curated specifically to provide gentle strength, minimize tension, and maintain sustained moisture.
Hair Profile: 4a curl pattern, fine strands, medium density, and high porosity.
Preferences
Scent profile: I have a strong aversion to food scented hair items (with the exception of a light fruit smell like citrus or coconut). No items I currently use rely on that specific scent profile (cupcakes, vanilla, yams, banana, avocado, cinnamon, carrot, or any other such item are not listed here). I prefer all products smell clean, woody, or delicately earthy, or unscented.
Reference point: I am tall, 6’1 so my hair always looks much shorter than it would on a 5′ frame. My neck is longer, there’s more back radius, my shoulders are wider apart. If you were to take my hair and place it on a shorter woman, it is below back length, but on me it’s shorter. My preference is to wear my hair neighter fully straightened or in its natural state, because of this, but in a fluffy blow out because its more flattering. Even though I have the dyson airwrap and the dyson dryer and used and loved both for many years, I now use the RevAir blow dryer 90% of the time. Occasionally I hit my roots with the Babyliss flat iron. I wash my hair every 5 or 6 days.
I am not an expert on anything, I created this blog purely as a discovery process, and while I stick to what works for me, I am always willing to learn.
